The pilgrimage of Virgin La Negrita
|
|
The biggest pilgrimage on Costa Rica. It`s held on the
August 2nd and is devoted for the patron nacional - Virgin of La negrita. The
pilgrims walk on the distance San Jose - Cartago. The last stage within the
borders of Cartago they cross on knees.

The Mothers Day
|
|
In Costa Rica, on the Augoust 15th is celebrated the
Mothers Day.
|
The day of San Ramon
|
|
It`s held on Augoust 30th in San Ramon. There are some
parades and dances in the streets, in which take parts the representatives of 30
neighbouring towns. They take to the church the figures of their local saints
patrons. People play with Brujas lottery, where the correct numbers are picked
by the witch on the broom.

the nancite fruits.

laying the eggs.

The day of afrocostarican culture
|

It`s held on August 31th. It`s called also the
International Day of Black People. There are lectures, discussions, traditional
meals and dresses shows and all the events that has something to do with "black
culture".
